Yo, so does anyone here have any experience about using Windows or mac printer drivers on GNU+Linux? So far my strategy has been to try to extract a ppd file from the Windows/mac drivers. It's an epilog fusion laser printer/engraver

Sounds like an ancient device. If so I would add an ancient windows machine dedicated just for this device.

Just plug it in. Driver will be found and installed automaticlly

    Oh wait...

Well, I guess it was your choice to use Linux in the first place

@NoToJavaScript just because some fucked up device ID there it does not validate a choice of OS.

@matt-jd don't know how old the drivers are but Mac os does use cups so it should be close to what you need.

@lastNick we have some in the makerspace I'll try to hook one of them up for the moment until I manage to get the drivers working

@hjk101 @aavalos thanks, I'll keep trying to extract them, they ship them in a dmg file. My installation struggles with it for no good reason but good then that will probably be the way to go 😊
