Another thing I've come to hate is unnecessary abstractions.

A computer is indifferent to if you give it a string or an integer. It doesn't know a 5 from name_of_whatever other than one is 5 and one is name_of_whatever.

SO THEN USE THE FUCKING NAME INSTEAD OF AN ARBITRARILY SET GOD DAMN INTEGER!
