People really don't understand what 'no strings attached means'. I've tried laying completely bare my thoughts about commitment and why it doesn't work (and won't work) for me at this point in time but people just pretend to understand only to start pestering me at work hours the next day.

What am I supposed to say? In what language? What's the key word I'm missing?.

What an excellent unproblematic rant about developing and developing related topics. Much helth, such sanity

People are different. Some people just don't understand how different you can be from them, emotionally. So they assume you will be able to love and need them like they do you. But you don't. WHY DON'T YOU LOVE? WHYYY? WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?

That sort of thing. I think it's understandable. People are just... different.

In that vein, just saying you do not want a relationship is often not enough - the other person should already know how closed you are emotionally, that something like that is even possible.

Other times, they just hope that you will "change" and start loving them once you see how much love they are willing to give.

@hardCoding Luckily love is not involved yet. THAT'd be a mess.
