@TheAwesome98 when a professor complains about wikipedia i just go to the website anyway and use their references 🤷 honestly, that's a load of bs
-
Tonnoman6223y@darksideofyay I mean, it's a good idea to check the sources for uni level stuff, but in that sense it's still a useful collection of sources on a topic.
-
@Tonnoman what i mean is that wikipedia most of the time has good references, but my teachers and professors always refused to acknowledge the platform simply because the access to that information is too easy, so it can't be good right? 🙄 what difference does it make if it comes from wiki or not if the source is the same? they only care about the URL printed on the paper
-
@darksideofyay Wikipedia does not mandate sources, and it's heavily paraphrased in any case. Your method teaches a habit of verifying source usage, which is good practice when the editorial consists of anyone who feels like it.

ah, reminds me of my corporate days.... the classic blocking of the "personal page".... many of which had the only answer on the internet
"THAT WEB SITE'S SHADY!!!!! THAT URL ISN'T IN THE TOP 50!!!!!!!!"
