"We can't fix the issue in time for deliver but we can provide a workaround"

The workaround:

@bigmonsterlover then why's there two ramps in parallel?

If that is supposed to check the wheelchair compatibility compliance list checkmark - it definitely won't. Might also kill some people with bad eyesight when they misstep onto the false stairs.

At least there are no sling/spike traps or razor wire. And it probably do work for some stroller designs (not the triple-wheeled ones though) and all bicycles.

@Oktokolo People die because of this? How stupid are there?

Well, it is much easier to push up or down a stroller with this than with normal stairs.

@happygimp0 People die because of all sorts of things. Disabled people exist. The elderly exist. This design becomes a trap for the average joe too when snow covers the false steps (no ice needed). It is easy to mistake special stairs for common stairs (which have only non-sloped steps).

The right thing to do is invest the space for a separated ramp usable by all sorts of wheelchairs, strollers and bicycles.

@Oktokolo Stairs with a bike gutter just work and are no hazard. You don't need a special ramp for the disabled to get to bike parking etc. Ramps and elevators only exist for the disabled. They take way too long for bikes and have annoying hairpin turns causing serious congestion.

I live in the city where they invented the bike lane and is still the most bike friendly city in the world. The bike traffic is super high and this is battle tested.

@hjk101 Grats for finding the edge case.

@Oktokolo this is all over this country (especially staircases for bridges) and also several other countries in Europe. Disabled people are the edge case. Accommodate for the edge but don't optimize for it.
Unless you are in Nauru of course where most people are obese and stairs in general might give people a heart attack...

@Oktokolo Wait, you don't have a problem that the slope stops too early but that there is a slope?

This is so common, but i never heard of a problem with that. Not just for bikes but also for strollers and rollators.

That the slops stops too early is actually bad, but not that big of a deal.

@happygimp0 That is just one minor detail that isn't relevant because the whole thing is shit anyways.
