FUCKING FUCK FUCK FUCK

So yesterday following Java class i went to my next class everything went well (or so i thought) and in my next class my phone blows up with notifications (changes in grades notify my phone) i look down and my Java grade goes from an A to a D in seconds and i was just so confused, after he finished grading it goes up to a C but i was still confused. So the next day I go into class and talk to him about my grade and he says, “you never fix your projects so why would i grade any of them, i’ll just give you f’s” to which i responded, “i am confused what i’m doing wrong (it was a few simple projects where i had to make shapes with stars for example a triangle) my outputs are correct” and he responded with “Oh well i can’t help you” so now i have a C and i did everything right but of course because it wasn’t his way it was wrong.

he just makes me so mad, when a student asks for help who decides to respond with i can’t help, he can but he just won’t.

Fuck him.

    I'd go talk to the head of the CS department. Don't let some fuckwit ruin your marks if you honestly believe you've done things correct.

    Good luck. Don't let it drag you down.

    @unity i would but the only issue with that is he is the head of the CS department.

    It’s not that i need help it’s that he refuses to grade anything i do, for example a project he had was to make a pyramid out of *’s so it’s just a nested loop and I showed him it and he checked it off and then later on goes back to tell me it’s all wrong and i need to redo it. For example he makes us three space our {‘s and then the code in which isn’t that big but once i tabbed and he didn’t notice but came back and gave me an f on the assignment.

    @ThatSoftwareGuy that sucks!

    Yeah I wasn't necessarily saying go to the department head for help, but rather to figure out how to combat this "teacher's" ineffective methods.

    You may have to find someone else willing to help you resolve the conflict. At some point the effort will have be worth more than a bad grade. But only you can really make that call.

    Sorry you're dealing with that though!

    @unity Yeah, it not only brings my gpa down but it’s just insane that someone would refuse to grade something before even looking at it. He’s even worse in APCS but i don’t even want to start with that.

    This happens all the time unfortunately, one of my professors at uni had a style guide specific to him and not widespread practice.

    Every learning institution will have processes in place for addressing this though, I’d recommend talking to your counsellor / admissions contact whatever and talking this through, because if you’ve fulfilled the task as formally defined in the assignment brief, then you should pass completely.
