I went on holiday for a month and this was within the first week. I only had codes handy for Google itself @olezhka

Store the recovery code and secrets. It is indeed shitty to lose it, but normally you are able to recover it.

Your phone should be part of your backup strategy too. The infos on it are too valuable to not be.

Be safe, use the 3-2-1 backup strategy.

Try Authy. It does sync between devices so there is an element of exposure to the world but you can secure it with a password.

When you install on a new device or on a reformatted device, it syncs all your 2FA profiles.

@lithiex I store them on an encrypted hard drive at home, but I couldn't get to that on holiday.

@wiredgecko I tried Authy awhile back, but it never worked properly on my phone.
