Intel drivers suck!

For months since I've gotten this work loaner PC it has been randomly crashing. Lately I noticed it is only when watching videos or listening to music. Googled the issue and found one other person with a similar issue who uninstalled the drivers. Now the thing runs fine! F.lux isn't the happiest but it still works.

All drivers are a bit shitty.

At least for the last hp I had before I collected my gay card and made the switch.

    Hi driver page:
    - yeah we haven’t updated them for Windows 10, good luck
    - okay, 8 is a similar kernel and base, we’ll use the 8 drivers and see what happens
    - need that intel graphics driver
    - great, sends me to a download page, once the download is kicked off, I have to go back and search for the fucking laptop again.

    >install... wait no, this is an unpacker, okay, unpack to desktop.
    >install... wait! Fuck! No! They’ve tried to bundle in some POS dashboard, uncheck.
    >INSTALL.

Long story short: the driver itself is for win 8, it works and allows me to use the full screen res but it’s buggy... because win 8.

The driver page doesn’t have a fallback to 7 so; if you want to use this laptop, you are stuck using the vista of 10... or just managing the bugs.

@jamescodesthing If said bugs didn't include the thing switching off when I'm in the middle of work and have music on it'd be manageable I guess.

Also we have 1 other identical machine in the office and 3 more with a bit less RAM and none of them have this issue. The identical one is my work one actually!

Might be something with updates. I turned off updates on the loaner because my Internet is capped and slow.

@TheCapeGreek dude, turn off updates because Microsoft are cheeky fuckers and literally serve you ads in your explorer nowadays if you leave them on.

Standard mate, give it back to Work and point out an out the box model that will work for you... is it really worth your one and effort and theirs?

The hp I was on about was a Work piece, but ssd over 8gb with an i5 so it flew and was worth the pain.

The only reason I remember the struggle is I just passed it on to a budding young data scientist for his python work in the office... had to quickly start from scratch with it.

@jamescodesthing I said I turned off updates lol.

Work one I have because my own PC was broke and I was also too broke to fix it for a bit. Going to return it next week since I fixed mine. Win7 on mine, a nearly 10 year old machine haha! Will upgrade next year.
