Should I actually look into getting a dev job..?

*I have a high school diploma (graduated three years early)
*College dropout (3-4 months, Computer Science - Personal Reasons)
*No prior work experience.
*Good textural communication skills, poor verbal communication skills.
*Currentally unemployed. (NEET :P)

*I have extensive personal experience with Java, and Python. Some Lua. Knowledge of data generation, parsing, Linux, Windows, Terminal(cmd & bash), & Encryption(Ciphers).
*Math, but very little algebra/geometry (though, could easily improve these).
*Work best under preasure.

Remote only.

Think anyone would hire me..?

    Do you have personal projects completed in the languages you mention? If they are good then your chances of getting a job are good I think. Getting a remote job is more difficult if you don't have experience but not impossible.
    I think mentioning that you work best under pressure isn't good because that means you procrastinate until the last moment or you constantly need someone breathing down your neck to get things done (but that's just my personal opinion)

    @jsframework9000

    I have an open-source game in Java (Linux DE Simulator)

    And I have an abandoned message encryptor in Python I could clean up and finish (and open-source).

    Where do I go..?

    Right now I'm looking at freelancer.com

    That "Remote only" is going to make it hard.

    Why is that your requirement? Why not just show up in the office?

    Edit: Other than that I don't see any problems. Could probably brush up on verbal skills but that'll come when you work in an office ☺️

    @skRad I agree, testing is a very important and desirable skill. Also look at angellist, it's a hiring site for startups.

    Doesn't that cost money?

    @Froot This is probablly useless as the company is quite young still but I'll plug em here anyway, who knows.

    So we have this cool app called Frank. Many of the hottest local Dev companies are on it and it works like an upside down recruitment process. You put in what you do and what you expect from a company and the app recommends you companies that look for that kind of stuff. I haven't applied through it myself yet but it does look promising. The offers are quite good.

    Edit: by we I mean we have it in our country. It's from here 😄

    Google for "remote jobs" stuff like remoteok.com or angel.co, I just found one called someone like grape something on an instagram ad.

    There is plenty :)

    @mundo03 @wtho

    When I said "Remote" I really just meant online.

    @Cyanite well that is the thing, I work remote now, it happens quite often that i have very little contact with people for a week or two, except email. So you can call that online, right?

    Just go to the pages we suggested, create a profile and put as much information as you and apply to jobs :)
