This is my first year in college specialty computer science, the first year we only study math and physics and reading ur guys rants and questions i seriously understand only 3 words hahahahah but it sounds sooo interesting!!!!!!
Side questions
Why are they concentrating on math so much in college ???

Math is the basic for a lot of other things.

You want to do algorithms and research stuff, you need to learn mathematical formulars and how to describe what code does as a formula and how to make code from a formula.

You want to do 3d graphics or robotics? Learn coordinates, matrix-transformations etc.

You want to work with sensors and signals, you need all kind of function transformations.i

You want to do security and cryptography? Numbers everywhere.

If you go to university, the goal is to make you able to do more than just use the stuff that more clever people made, to give you a little knowledge that allows you to dig into the really complicated stuff. Someone has the do the clever stuff in the future, and while you may not be that person, it helps you understand more than "oh, it's a black box, is magic inside."

The real question is why do you learn about physics too?

First year it math and physics after that only math @catintroholic @catintroholic

@faroyk but what are the physics for? And what about programming?

For example the robotics part, often your program is a model of the real world which is described using physics

Okay well we had a tiny little bit of physics in Technical Foundations when we were learning about transistors and stuff but that's about it, no more physics after that

In developing countries specialty mine our education system is all about making students learn everything not to be more qualified but because they have a small number of students that need to pass so there isn't a lot of people asking for jobs when there is none so they make hard just to make it hard it just weird @aul12 @catintroholic
