Owncloud for small personal use, as already mentioned.

If you wanna go big time, or just learn the professional way, take a look at OpenStack

Thanks for response I am thinking of buying some hard disks and connecting to them using pi. One hard disk will be primary and others will be copies synced at intervals. And running a server on pi like own cloud and data can be pushed from my other devices.

Unrelated I guess but I just remembered this:

Does anyone know of a cheap storage solution with high transfer meant for images? I really need help with this. Maybe @linux can help me?

    Physical or virtual?

@Linux doesn't really matter, I need to store a lot of images that can be accessed a lot cheaply :)

@Linux imagine imgur (but it has nothing to do with imgur lol)

The cheapest long term option would be buying a proliant Microserver, and use that as a storage server.

@kingjoker I use a similar solution, BananaPi with one harddisc over SATA and another harddisc over USB as backup.
Problem is, that the BananaPi seems not to be powerful enough for owncloud. Everything works, but it's quite slow. I use it e.g. as backup for the familiy smartphones, and when I try to access the backed up pictures from a laptop to dump the unneeded ones it takes a minute or two until the whole overview page is created and loaded.

Maybe it's better with a Raspi3 as it is way more powerful.

I think there are already tons of such platforms. See owncloud (or my favorite: nextcloud) for example
