Just found out a professor of mine "secures" each student's personal grades by appending a string made up of four random lowercase letters + four random digits (i.e. abcd1234) to the end of a URL.

    If this is an intro to crypto class, they may be implying there's a secret extra credit assignment to be done 😉

    @rjedlin I wish, but it's just a Linear Algebra course whose professor is too hard headed to see the very obvious legal troubles that he could face. Not only that, but apparently someone has actually gotten everyone's grades before and his solution to prevent that was to add more characters to the URL. That's how it went from 4 random letters to getting the numbers on the end of it now.
