We needed something *kind* of like the classic codepage 437, that we had all the rights to, AND made up entirely of 8x8 characters so it could be more easily encoded.

This was for a weird demo I made some years ago... the idea was doing raster font rendering in GLSL by reading from a const array of uints -- no textures, so all the "pixel" fetches are done by mapping UV coords to array indices.

Well, I made the font, the demo worked, and I was proud of it so I kept the font around. Now I don't want to use anything else :B
