				In my experience elementary is not much different from Ubuntu aside from the additional bugs and the more outdated software.

okkimus16918yIf you already have Ubuntu I wouldn't bother changing just for the sake of changing os. If you are anyways going to reinstall os you could try out Elementary. I liked it but moved away when I got new laptop. -

holycode878yI love Ubuntu! But I think it is best to stay away from non-LTS versions, especially for development because they have more issues in my experience. Still possible to have the latest versions of a lot of packages with PPAs. :) - 
				
				@smaso Yep, if it's just the UI just install Pantheon desktop on Ubuntu. No need for a reinstall and you can always switch back quickly.
The other preinstalled programs on eOS aren't worth it.
