Elementary or Ubuntu?

I like elementary's ui, but I don't know if I can get any benefit from switching from Ubuntu to this one

    In my experience elementary is not much different from Ubuntu aside from the additional bugs and the more outdated software.

    If you already have Ubuntu I wouldn't bother changing just for the sake of changing os. If you are anyways going to reinstall os you could try out Elementary. I liked it but moved away when I got new laptop.

    I don't wanna be that guy (but I kinda do)

    Arch with i3gaps.

    @Dacexi I agree. Or at least Ubuntu with i3.

    Well, I'll just setup a vm to try it out.
    It would take too long to erase and install elementary just for his look.

    @Dacexi void + i3 gaps.
    Now I am that guy

    Can't you just install the desktop environment?

    I love Ubuntu! But I think it is best to stay away from non-LTS versions, especially for development because they have more issues in my experience. Still possible to have the latest versions of a lot of packages with PPAs. :)

    @smaso Yep, if it's just the UI just install Pantheon desktop on Ubuntu. No need for a reinstall and you can always switch back quickly.

    The other preinstalled programs on eOS aren't worth it.
