I decided to learn some soldering and electronics. Any idea on what to try?

    @jAsE I don't see the need for a self made keyboard. I thought about creating my own fighting stick for my pc though. Or maybe a mini keyboard with shortcuts to programs.

    Get some cool LEDs, mount them behind your screen and plug to an arduino or something alike - then program it.

    I'd get an Arduino and some old electronics, plus a soldering iron. Focus on the old electronics first until you get the feel of how the solder melts (I was class 3 solder trained for my old job; it's annoying, but kind of a cool skill). After you get the feel, move into the Arduino boards and work your way up!

    @RiderExMachina thanks. I tried to look for older electronics in the Internet but all I find is arduino/raspberry stuff...
    I shouldn't have trashed all the broken Chinese tech stuff I had...

    @Dollique
    Go to a thrift store and see if you can pick up a VCR or DVD player; basically anything electronic will do, and you'll destroy the thing anyway.
