So my daughter feels better, and I am getting ready for work, but alas, now my son has a fever.

I'm thinking having children and programming don't get along together...

I know exactly what you mean. It's not just programming though, it's anything requiring time.

They are, quite literally, the reason I get up in the morning...

You need get really good at focussing on getting stuff done when you have that biweekly 15-30 mins window...

Wait till they can code with you ;-)
