We want to improve the portal by making apps for it what can you do or recommend?

Well holy shit this is new you're actually asking the dev team for advice on a future project.

Normally you immediately go to a third party waste a shit ton of money and then tell us we have a week to add whatever it is into our system.

Then when we can't do it or have to delay other projects you're dragging our manager into a meeting with the CEO complaining that IT are refusing to cooperate or are holding up the project etc.

The change of heart is much appreciated but where the fuck did this come from? New year resolution?

    @VomBa Oh I will seeing the email was like opening a present you were told you weren't getting. It was magical.

    80% certain they will ignore what we suggest and outsource it for the cheapest price they can find regardless.

    By the way, When did this IT bashing started?
    Because in the end it is a software, even if it is outsourced, and someone has to develop it ( and may be the reason it is terrible is because the guy that made it was not well considered by his management)

    My guess is that management schools makes douchebags. What's your take?

    @MadMcCrow I'd say the bashing stated two years ago when two directors left. No one wanted to take responsibility for anything so the goto was pin it on the software which seems to have stuck.

    I think the problem my place faces is they will hire replacement managers instead of promoting people up.

    Although the last guy they promoted went nuts with power and needs full authority of everything. Surprised he's still here seeing as that department has gone to shit.
