When I'm in the supermarket and want to buy some, I can literally stand there for an hour, just looking for the best one for that moment.
Also searching for new ones good can take ages but when I finally find that one beer with that awesome taste.... 💕 -
@linuxxx I don’t like beer, but I had dinner and went out with the executives of our largest client, and ended up at a beer place. They were buying, and not to be rude, I had to accept.
Tried this Porter called Sierra Nevada, with an espresso taste. Damn so good, but I can’t find it in any local shops 😫 -
bahua129047yI live in one of the best beer cities in the world. Denver has between 150 and 200 breweries in and around it. I will never get to them all. I love it!
I was in the UK in 2015, and was really disappointed with how bland and flavorless most of the beer was. There are a couple new breweries there, but it seemed that the vast majority were the tired old standards, making the same two or three flavors.
Later in that same trip though, we went to the Czech Republic, and the beer was outstanding there. Lots of new (2000 and later) places with a great variety of beers with wonderful flavors.
How is the micro and craft beer scene in the Netherlands? -
Trappist367yI like special beers too, which you can tell by my name :D I recommend the Trippel Karmeliet if you haven't tried it already. One of my favorites is Latrappe, the only Dutch beer I like so far, any recommendations for Dutch special beers?

@linuxxx Good choice, I like that one as well :)
@bahua I think we have a great craft beer scene in The Netherlands. There's loads of small breweries and since the biggest supermarket brand started putting regional beers on the shelves a bunch of them have become semi-mainstream.
@trappist LaTrappe is indeed good and I believe the only 'trappistenbier' we have. For classical beers LaTrappe or Hertog Jan are the way to go. If you feel more adventurous I'd checkout Oedipus, who for example brew a triple beer with lemongrass and ginger, or Kaapse brouwers, who also have a great pub in Rotterdam. Also interesting is Jopen. A brewery housed in an old church in Haarlem. They do both the classical and the more experimental beers. -
@linuxxx Haha, if I find another, maybe slightly younger, version of me I'll make sure to get her number for you ;)

@wilhelmina You've really got me wondering now, if I may ask, what's your age?
I get a thing called privacy/private so if you're not comfortable with sharing your age, it's all good! -
@linuxxx I found out that our alcohol shop sells the Sierra Nevada porter beer, and they do home delivery 📦

joykill3437yAah beer, so proud of our Belgian heritage... Special beers are my weakness too... Nothing beats just driving to my local beer shop and browsing there...

Trappist367y@ArcaneEye the solar system was discovered by Belgians who named it after their telescope called 'Trappist', which in turn was named after the Trappist beer, a sort of special beer that is only brewed in certain monasteries and is quite prominent in Belgium. Definitely recommended if you ever get to visit Belgium ;)
I hate how one of my hobbies can get me tipsy so easily.
It's really hard to combine it with the working life sometimes 😖😩
I just love special beer(s), it's more than just beer for me, it's a hobby!
