"Javascript the good parts" it's the worst book about Javascript I've ever read. Completely unscientific, no explanation about why those parts are good and other aren't.

@shasha I haven't read the book, but I've read few good things about that book.

@shasha Did you actually read the book? :) I think it had plenty of comparison & explanations included. Just my 5 cents..

@anamus yes, I read the book. I haven't found enough explanations or satisfying ones. It's not a scientific book but a book full of personal opinions of the author.

At least someone has the Idea to enumerate the good parts of it :)

Opinion or not, Crockford does an amazing job of breaking down all the capabilities of JavaScript, and exemplifying various implementations of popular programming concepts. An "opinion" from someone with a ton of experience on a particular matter holds more value than the opinion of someone who hates on the matter with little to no substance.

@lasha no one stops you from loving an adoring Crockford's book. At least you'll be in the club of "facts without evidence lovers". Be my guest and all the best ;)

@shasha that's kind of condescending. I feel development is a lot about opinions and priorities. Very few technologies in our business are objectively better than others.
