Hey guys, why yould you use linux over Mac OS X since they are both unix based ? Are there things Linux can do and OS X can’t ? Thx !

    I'm no expert on osx but as far as I know, it (osx) only has the drivers it needs, which results in awful performance on unsupported devices (that is if manage to start it at all. A friend of mine got it running in a vm and said it's horribly slow)
    Apart from that, it's a software question (what you need/want/don't want etc)

    Linux in not Unix based it's Unix like.

    Linux is more versatile. The only reason to use mac Os is when you need to code AND use some specific software, that will not run on Linux.

    A lot, for instance it run basically anywhere while osx requires an apple device that is hell expensive. And Linux is fully customizable, to the point where we can even create Linux from scratch to fit our needs. So there are ups and downs, but as you learn more about Linux, you’ll know why we love it so much

    @savethecode thanks the way i see it is that OS X is more plug n play than Linux, like installing anything is a pain :/

    OSX and family can drain your bank account pretty efficiently. Linux isn't very good at that.
