Any devs out here who are into martial arts training ?

It's been a month since I joined kickboxing classes. However , I have never met a fellow dev who is into martial arts. What about you guys ?

I occasionally dabble in Capoeira, took it up along with breakbeat.

Doesn't look pretty at all, but is effective as fuck, especially for smaller , weaker people.

My advice is, don't rush to progress. Take it slow, or to say it better, at the pace your teacher wants, and be humble. Ask to learn every little thing well, for example proper steps are one of the most important parts. Many people I know , actually over 9/10, got bored from spending some weeks on learning steps and jabs and changed to schools where they do all punches from day one. Needless to say they learnt it all wrong while thinking they have progressed. These people will never learn their art well and are stuck to a level where they just barely sweat. You might take a year or two to reach an acceptable level this way, but you will have learnt proper kickboxing, you will have the knowledge to keep improving yourself without strict overwatching, you will have the foundation to hop to any other martial art, and the intensity of training you can achieve when you have learned your shit right is unparalleled to the level of those who rush to learn just to show off.

@Teabagging4Life When I started to learn kenjutsu I wasn't allowed a sword of any type for a long time.

I did Aikido for some years and also know some devs/people in engineering who're into Martial Arts.
Last year, I nearly got into Filipino Martial Arts, but had to stop due to time constraints. Q_Q

I have a 50lb compound bow I'm using now, though I'm more used to standard composite bows.
