Understand some students might have better solutions. Not accepting better solutions proves you're a bad teacher.

Like telling students they can't use a better solution because the criteria clearly states you need to use an outdated inferior solution.

Thank you! For crying out loud, I am in a computer science college and like 50% of the teachers are so old school.. they force me to write down what they say in pen and paper... When we have PCs right in front of us. It's a really small class but still...

After throwing away 5 classes in front of the teacher she finally agreed to let me ( the only one in the class at this point ) to write down everything on the computer. And guess what... It's actually useful because I can send everything to any class mate and he can learn from there. 110 WPM and I can type literally everything the teacher says, even the "No need to write this down" comments :]

@JustKato Its easy to make mistakes, sharing that mistake with a single click is what makes for sad results sometimes.
Remindsm e of the time the professor actually offered to write his own course's summary since the one being passed around contained ALOT of wrong info and his last group had a 30% pass rate when they used it (nobody removed that guy's work or mentioned that it was faulty for 2 years)
