    Why would you want to do that? They're so useful. I use DFAs and pushdown automata all the time in my code.
    Plus, it helps you understand theory of computation; Turing machines and all that. And compilers.

    Automata theory is one of the core subjects in computer science. It's the principle on which all compilers are built, complex string processing problems can be solved and many more.

    It was so much fun brain-storming and solving those problems.
