I use fedora, with gnomeshell. fast and all cutting edge tools. latest version of the libraries straight from the repo.

@lurio most stable in my experience. Based on debian. Widely used, so support is abundant. Plus easy on the eye. I know it shouldn't matter, but it does for newbs.. Use one of the LTS versions to avoid issues..

tahnik387578yIf you want stability and don't have too much time to configure everything then Ubuntu.
If you want all the the new cutting edge tools at their latest stable version then fedora. Might not be as stable as Ubuntu lts.
If you have too much time then Arch.
Want something like OS X? Elementary Freya
Hey devs! What is your favorite OS for developping??
I'm actually using win10 and loving it. It's beginning to look a lot like Linux (i'm talking about ergonomy).
But I want to reinstall another Linux OS to code and i'm wondering if you have fast and goodlooking Linux distribution for me.
