The comments seem quickly typed from how they're written too...maybe this is a workaround to getting the stickers+ball? One guy commenting on his post from different accounts?

Not sure why anyone would take the trouble to write fake comments since # of comments on your rant doesn't get you anything.

Most likely just a group of friends that the OP told to sign up - which is entirely within the rules.

@dfox they all up voted the post too. and doesn't more comments = higher ranking in the algorithm?

@AdamGaskins # of comments helps ranking, but that amount of comments would do very little.

And what I'm saying is there's no rule saying you can't ask your friends to sign up and comment and up-vote your rant. I looked at some of the accounts and they seem to be legitimate (not from the same domain or anything). It's not something we blatantly encourage or anything, but it's also not something we're going to say "don't do" because in reality we want people to get their friends who are devs to sign up.

Also, I thank you for pointing it out and I want to make clear that I'm not saying I thought it was a good post (I wouldn't have up-voted it, personally). But even if those commenters were fake accounts which I'm pretty sure they aren't, that would still leave 40 or whatever legitimate upvotes.
