23:04 Client: We need these changes pushed to production before morning.
06:22 Staff: Changes pushed to prod.

<Tells story to manager>
Manager: Sum up the time you've worked on it and double it.

This isn't a special thing, we however have a policy stated in our contracts that all changes must be scheduled with a minimum of 24h before the time they're needed.

    I'm for exponential increase each time they request something like that.

    Shouldn't you double the rate and not the time?

    @sSam I'm not too informed about how the contract with this specific client is handled, but we have a set hourly rate with them, so we can't change it. But we can always lie about the time needed to make the stuff they requested.

    @AXAz0r how can you lie about the time? Can't they clearly see when you pushed to prod?

    @sSam They can see when it was placed on the prod server, but not the total time the ticket/project required. They're not our only client, our full work time is not dedicated to them. We track work time per client, per project/ticket. So technically the only limitation is the number of work days x 8 hours between the submission and the production push.

    @irene

    (time ** n) or (time * 2 ** n) for n in 1..

    :)

    @sSam plus they could always lie about the amount of people involved. Two people working eighthours makes sixteen billed hours.
