I FUCKING GOT THE JOB!
Just woke up to a call from the HR that they are choosing me and that they would like to send the contract papers to me.
I am going to pick the papers up myself in a few hours instead.
No person at this moment is happier than me right now!
Finally, dude... I have been hunting for months.
This call was totally unexpected since the interview was already 2 months ago and lasted between 5-10 minutes.
This is also my favorite company among all companies I applied to.
I realize that in interviews I can fake confidence to such high levels I thought would never be possible for me.
I keep impressing myself with every interview lol.
The saying "Fake it until you make it" is kinda true. It works for me haha3
Follow up to this rant/story:
I have my final interview this week and I am very excited and the more I think about it I get nervous.
This time one of the senior devs from last time will be present, some dude from the business department and another guy who had no information on the internet about himself.7
Why would a company (A) create another company (B) within itself?
Both companies are literally in the same building.
Company A is manufacturing plastic products and company B is all about company B's IT (sys admin, dev, etc.).8
I AM SO FUCKING HAPPY!
Just had an interview and it went fucking awesome!
At some point we just talked about games like Cyberpunk and Minecraft with the developers.
Can't wait to work there!21
I am realizing that "We will tell you about the results next week" means "YOU should contact us next week to prove your interest" in the HR language.
What else is there that is subtle and hidden during interviews?6
In today's job interview for an apprenticeship for the "Anwendungsentwicklung" position where they specialize in SAP systems (ABAP).
They told me that this position is a new thing in their company and that they want me, once I agree with their contract (which they will send later), to take responsibility for that.
I'm fine with that.
Now comes the part that is bugging me. They also said that the IT manager does not want to be disturbed often, if I have questions.
(I mean I will definitely have some questions. I am an apprentice after all, right? Like why should I join your apprenticeship program, if you refuse to teach me stuff? I can study on my own, as well and not be in your program.)
Just a few times and that's it. They admitted that they do not know much about that position and that I have to learn most things myself. No books and no other resources. They also do not know where the school is going to be yet.
The people in the interview I've spoken to where nice and we made some jokes here and there, but the fact that the company does not want to support me in an apprenticeship is saddening.
I do not know...maybe I'm just too concerned and this is normal day to day stuff for apprentices, but from what I have read about apprenticeships this is not the right thing to do as a company on the internet.
Correct me in the comments, if you think differently.
I will use this company as a last resort.6
This week I had an interview via Zoom and the HR asked me "How would you feel positive/comfortable as an "apprenticeship person"?".
I asked them to repeat the question because it sounded weird and I thought it was maybe just my mind imagining things.
They said the same thing to which I asked why they ask me such a question thinking that this might be a new HR trap.
She (HR) felt that I was suspecting something and explained this is not a trap, but just to improve the company.
I don't think that's the case lol.
If I were to demand material things, it would not be in the company's favor.
+ how the hell am I supposed to know before even having worked with them for let's say a week?
That was strange7
After doing some self reflection today, I realized that I could finish college (I passed every exam), but the amount of time I spent for college (basically the whole day each day) is too much to handle for me.
Note to future me: If you blame yourself for why you didn't continue, it's because of the lack of time, freedom and calmness of your mind. Otherwise you would have went literally insane.
Trust me, your early version is in that phase right now, and I know it better than you do.12
Yesterday I was in an interview and the chief of that company asked me how old I am and where I am from.
After that he said that "This is a multicultural company btw. We welcome everyone".
I wonder what he was thinking while saying that.6
I'm cringing so hard about my posts.
What was I thinking when making them?
I'll let them live to remind myself of the pain.
Hopefully I won't post stuff that I will cringe about in the future anymore😂2
Facebook API is the most cancerous API to ever exist!
Complicated as fuck for no reason.
Don't get me started on WhatsApp API.
In the end I managed to make it work with my bot, but dude did that take a lot of time.
Using Twitter API and Discord API on the other hand was way easier.12
Status update: Almost two months ago I struggled alot with even basic math.
Now I've gotten way better in not just basic stuff, but also college level of math.
That's it. Bye.7
I'm doing the recommended math tasks. Since I can't trust the prof's solutions (he does errors here and there), I watch YouTube videos, Khan Academy videos, compare the results of the prof with the results of online step calculators such as wolfram alpha and find new rules I've never heard of before.
The prof doesn't really comment every step about why he's doing what. He just provides the solution and I have to reverse engineer from his solution up to the original state of the equation. Repeating the same procedure for the online calculator results as well.
I have to say that "Oh, boy, did I learn so many valuable things..." Stuff that I should have learned when I was at least doing my A levels (Abitur).
It is as if I am opening the gates to a new world. Not even exaggerating. Ok, maybe a bit. Ok, maybe a bit more, but no bit more than that.9
Ok, now math is starting to make sense and I'm beginning to enjoy it.
Is this a new level of the love of hurting one self or is this the act of enjoyness? Hmmm...
I noticed that I like to "reverse engineer" the formula we have to remember (I don't like remembering without knowing its benefits and reason of existence and it will most likely be forgotten after graduation when I don't find these two attributes of one formula) and I noticed that I am rather old fashioned and like to do it in a complex way instead of the derived ready formula way.4
We have this one professor in a mathematics course.
He sits there having no plan of what he's doing. He literally opens his python Jupiterbook with latex enabled, writes a complex equation and tries to solve it in 10 minutes. Makes mistakes every few steps and deletes his formatted equation that isn't even interpreted yet (we see the cdot etc. instead of * which makes it even harder to read). Every few minutes some student corrects him and he deletes it again.
Why can't you just think first and then write and try to teach us?
Use as much time as you want as long as you don't have to keep reverting back the humanly unreadable latex equation.
Hell, you are also allowed to use a basic pen and paper. Trust me, that shit is more readable, even if you have a bad handwriting, than your squeezed in complex untranslated latex equation in Jupiterbook.
Btw. he also streams with no zooming in I might add.
Am I supposed to trying to read your small as shit, focus on what you're teaching while you keep making mistakes or write it down on paper and practice the given tasks?
On top of that, he records the zoom conference but he doesn't share it anywhere on the college forum so that people who have missed it can download it and rewatch it.
Everything he does makes no sense. How did he become a mathematics professor with a PhD?3
Started at a new college once again after a long pause.
And I have to admit that I suck at basic stuff like algebra. Shit...
I'm putting a lot of time to understand things, but it feels like the knowledge just fades away. Starting to doubt myself...
Not hoping for anyone to support me either, just felt like posting so that I won't keep thinking about it and giving myself bad vibes.8
Around 2 months ago, I worked at Subway. AMA (just joking. Don't do it.)
I worked there for a week (I could write a lot about the environment) and quit it because of how entitled, lazy, rude and crazy the boss was.
The boss was the usual crackhead woman straight from the dumpster.
She used the Subway Instagram and Facebook pages as her private personal pages.
She told us to follow the Instagram page, like everything and comment on every post.
I didn't do it. Instead I shared the page with my friends and we laughed our asses off.
End of story.6
A lot of things happened. Life has changed and forced me to leave social media for some months (including devRant).
I became a happier person. I learned how to handle stressful situations and improved my social skills. Started to not give a fuck about people and realised that I get girls' attention without me putting effort.
Some girls began to initiate conversations which I found odd because I wasn't used to it.
I went camping with some bros last week, we met girls and I have a date next week.
I still can't understand how I am attracting so many girls. I barely changed from the outside appearance.
In short: Life is going great which is ironic due to the corona virus.6
If someone is sick of dualbooting windows and a linux distribution, hit me up.
Don't worry. I am helping for free.14
To the physicists among us:
I'm in the process of planning a very lightweight mini drone that flies with the help of radio signals that's surrounding it.
I'm targeting 100 MHz.
I calculated the amount of energy (Joules) of it and just when I did change the formula from E=h*f to Power=E/time I realized that time is basically going to be infinite and now I am stuck finding a solution to this.
I can't just use a potential infinite amount of time in this equation and need a workaround.
Any help is appreciated.22
There's this thing that I'm experiencing when it comes to fighting with someone in terms of physical activity.
I mean I'm not doing that anymore, but in the past whenever I was in such a situation, it felt like something took control over me and I enjoyed beating the enemy infront of me.
I felt like I was a completely different person than I am when I am not fighting. Idk how to explain it. I searched the net and couldn't find it there either.
It seems like this is a rare case.
It might be dumb to ask it and knowing that it might be dumb to ask this and to continue to ask this might make me seem ignorant, but I am in need of knowing what's happening.
If anyone's experiencing the same thing or if someone knows what's happening, I am all ears.
Edit: In the moment of this strange thing taking control over me, I felt no pain or less pain, when I got hit, than in "normal mode". Idk if it is something psychological or spiritual.15
Does someone here now how the TempleOS creator did receive messages from his god?
Edit: I didn't know about him until recently.3
Gaijin (war thunder), Origin and Epic Games game launchers do fucking suck.
They miss the option to load already installed games.
Lesson learned: If I wanna buy games, I will do it on Steam or on Battle.Net.
They have proper game recognition systems in place.
Now I have to download at least 300 GB of games with my bambus connection.
There's this odd thing that I'm experiencing in the moment of falling asleep.
I somehow remain conscious and can feel how the unconscious part of my brain opens a sort of portal to a dream world. I begin to hear sounds and my speed of thinking becomes slower.
That's when I get a panic attack and I am trying it again. After the 2nd or 3rd try, it usually works and I wake up in the next morning as if nothing happened and the cycle repeats again lol
That makes me wonder if a "healthy" way of dying will have this sort of transition as well.15
Do we have vfio enthusiasts here?
Now that I made my second GPU boot into Arch Linux (inb4 I use arch, btw. jokes in the comments), I also set up a windows vm with GPU passthrough.
When I plug the monitor cable into the hdmi port of my passthrough'd GPU, I can see windows os on the screen.
My problem is that I want to have it inside of the same monitor without changing the from hdmi port to hdmi port manually, but "softwarely" (neologism ftw).
I read about looking-glass in the arch wiki (I use arch, btw. + On a serious side note though, I really like the arch wiki. It is very straightforward.), but I could not get it to synchronize with the Spice display server.
Does someone know how the solution to this problem?6
