There's a thing called "Dark Theme" and it's available on almost every IDE that I use.

    @irene nah, I do. I need it.

    @irene You also don't need to wear leather shoes and black wind resistant jackets while visiting New York. But it turns out they wear them for a reason. During the cold seasons the rain and snow make it unbearable to wear anything else. As the wind cuts through normal cotton cloth and the water from the puddles gets into normal shoes. The locals even go so far as to walk backwards to avoid the wind in their face.

    Same thing with themes. You don't "NEED" a dark theme. But I'd ranther not need to buy sunglasses to use an IDE.

    @irene That was such a weak response.

    Does Xcode have a dark theme? NO. More evidence that Xcode is the worst.

    I also need a dark theme because I am prone to debilitating migraines given too much bright light. I had it approved at work to unscrew some of the overhead lights for that reason. You want to limit extreme ambient light while using dark themes just as much as you want to limit extreme ambient darkness while using light themes.

    @irene btw what do you mean by you don't need it, of course you need it.

    @irene lol please don't hate me, but dark theme is so much comfortable, why would anyone hate it.

    @irene I won't say superior but i don't understand why would people prefer light theme over dark.

    @irene won't say needs but doesn't it feel good to have one??

    @irene Uh oh, sorry my bad, but that's was my reflex reply, if that term exists, btw why so much hate for lovely dark themes ??

    I understand the frustration, but have you tried dark theme ?? Doesn't dark theme deserve to be a little bit more superior in our world ?? Instead of staring at a bright screen all day/night long isn't darkness soothing ??

    @irene If you prefer light themes alright, but majority of devs prefer darker themes, and there's a difference between reading articles and reading code, https://skeptics.stackexchange.com/... this could help.

    @irene but most of the devs i've seen use dark themes, and all the popular dark themes of different IDE's don't lie as well.

    I knew you will say that, gosh, you aren't giving up

    are you ?? How can people use defaults, when you have the power to customize and make your IDE feel like home :/ you sound like a obedient student now a good employee , who works for a big corp or something like that ?? No offense though, but why.

    I didn't meant to be superior in any way, but dark themes are optimized and made suitable for devs , not saying bright themes are not, both are good but dark ones are a little bit more comfortable for longer span of time in my case, and I believe that's the case for most devs.
