Hmm, where are the bots? The bot process is just running according to to the logging application: https://ragnar.molodetz.nl/

    Weird.
  • 1
It's a miracle but it's a collection of very scammy words not known by the anti spam service. Will add cheating and spouse and spy.
  • 1
Or they finally have read the source code :P. Deploying bot server now.

I am Ira and downvoted this post because I consider it spam. Your message will be removed from this community site due too much downvotes. See my profile for more information. Read my source code mentioned on my profile to see what you did wrong. Should be no problem for a developer.

    Have a nice day!

If your post is not spam, please mention @retoor.

@D-4got10-01 look at this completely spammy rant that just got trough the anti spam system, believe it or not, but for some reason none of those single words was registered as a trigger word :P Had an false positive earlier today. The word 'helping' was forbidden and a new user used it. I made up with him (it was Jase, a famous ranter that often deletes his saccount) with eight upvotes of the bots and making his rant visible again. I automated the rant restore process now. I had to build comment deletion, it didn't exist ofcourse, why would a bot have that.
  • 1
@retoor I _think_ I've noticed it, too, but by the time I was about to invoke our friendly Viking, I noticed the rant had already been downvoted twice.

Since, IIRC, two downvotes == post removed / hidden, calling the cavalry seemed redundant.

Huh... I remember seeing the username 'Jase' before.

Well, good thing the false positive has been sorted out.

@D-4got10-01 still awake? What stuff do you use? :P
  • 1
    @retoor Yeah, still awake.

    0xc0ffee

Also, depends on the thing I'm doing.

If it's something engaging, then I'm less tired, so I can stay up longer.

Trade-off is I then have to sleep a bit more the next day.
  • 1
@D-4got10-01 what are you doing? I should go to sleep since i'm too tired to program anyway. I only have several big tasks left that I won't start on this time.

Btw, I'm playing a lot with r and rf. But it seems that the free version kinda better listen than the commercial version (commercial version is also free, but you need an OPENAI_API key, that one isn't free). The free version has one of my OPENAI_API key built in with a few euro on it's a account. It's almost impossible to achieve that. Consider that talking to my bot the whole day only costs 3 cents. Btw, https://retoorded.molodetz.nl does work great on android phone now. It understand and talks very well. I love the clippy, it's part of the product but tecnically also fucking it up a bit since it requires a click on page load to display.

    @retoor I'm crocheting the things I mentioned in e-mail.

Since crocheting requires both of my hands to be engaged full-time, I'm watching movies to kind of !waste the time.

Right now I'm catching up on the Alien Romulus.

It's been sitting in my backlog for way too long.

@D-4got10-01 ah, 「clear」. I watched some panic today about America maybe losing it's status as most advanced AI supplier. The DeepSeek is scoring better on some tests, was just 6 million euro, on 'cheaper' hardware and it actually used GPT4o to become smart. It is a technique that has a name to use your big model to make your smaller model smart. Kinda what you see in real life too, student becomes teacher many times by learning all the good stuff quickly from teacher and then passes him. The DeekSeek model is trained on gpt4o so hard, that it actually thinks that he's made by openai. But interesting fact, my GPT also once said to be a different model. All those models commit incest. IIRC, the models do not want to talk about what model they are anymore. "I’m based on OpenAI's GPT-3 model. How can I assist you today?" is just said by my gpt4o-mini. We're getting screwed over. I already clam that the gpt4o that we have on API is not the real one OpenAI self provides on web.
  • 1
    @retoor Hmm...

AIs training on themselves to improve.

On one hand I can see how that could be the case, given each has a lot of data && they somewhat share it between each other.

On the other, seems like at some point some retardness might occur due to that incest.

As in they might develop some anomalies due to talking just to each other.

    Might !be the case, though.

I don't know enough about those things to be sure either way.

@D-4got10-01 I think it kinda works like this. The big model contains a lot of bullshit. By saying something, it says only things where he did think about, making it good training data. Now the new model has that data too but not the shit behind it, It knows only smart things. The new model knows stuff, but just didn't invent the answer itself. Just like many people are just giving the opinion straigth from the newspaper. They didn't think about it, they just read it.

I don't have idea what effect will be if they keep training on themselves. In a certain way it can help to ask yourself the same question from different perspectives right? We also can sit on the couch, doing nothing, have a thought and bam -> you actually learned something new yourself out of nowhere. I think LLM's maybe can do that too. It's the reasoning stuff I guess. But in reality, I think no one knows until they try it out. LLM stays a bit unpredictable black box I guess.

Imagine my gpt4o model saying it's GPT3. Consider that they don't even have that under control. I think the whole stuff is trial on error and adjusting. Not very scientific always. One big AI guy that I watched today says that OpenAI probably is gonna focus more on functionality than training the model. So making it instead of smart, also useful. I already get the most out of it. If i say deploy now out loud, my server gets deployed! I can ask it to search on google. It works very great, i can ask the up to date citizen count from my little unknown village. It does a google search and picks from all content exactly the value what you want, so it will respond with just the amount of citizens. It works even better than expected. It's weird that there are no talking AI speakers sold yet. I had the easiest version (that was very expensive to use) completed in hours. Making it cheap was the hard part - making custom voice recognition and speech. Especially Dutch.
  • 1
My system costs 3 cents a day. OpenAI speech system around ten euro's per hour or so.

    Three options:

    - the full text to speech solution of OpenAI. So expensive that nobody uses it. If you don't talk, it still costs money. So you can't use it as a full time listening assistant as I do

    - use two models of OpenAI for speech and recognition and use the the text api. Kind of afforable, already implements some complexity.

    - use own models for TTS and use the text API. That's how retoorded works. My local version is even better, it can speak and understand Dutch.

I hope I don't bore you with this stuff :P I'm so amazed by it because it's so much further than I would've ever expected. Also, I see so many developers behind on the subject while it's so easy. The only reason I often struggle is because I never take the easy way, but it results in being affordable and thus worth it.

@retoor By playing w/ your rf, I can say that it is quite impressive.

I see how it could go wrong, though, in a scenario like:

    - Creators make them PC / woke / whatever.

    - They start talking w/ each other.

    - They keep getting even more PC / woke.

So it could be possible that in the end, they will become very shitty.

At which point they would probably get scrapped due to having too much bullshit data.

But it's possible there are some countermeasures in place to avoid that scenario.1

No clue, really how likely that is.
  • 1
    @retoor No worries - you're !boring me.

I'm learning something new that otherwise I would've kept ignoring.
  • 1
@D-4got10-01 you know - I've seen such process with twins. I know two sisters and they always talked to eachother and telling eachother they were beautiful while almost being the same on both behavior and looks. They gave themselves full time confirmation of they being right and told themselves that they look good by telling that to eachother full time. They're both quite cocky :p A loop of same data, full time positive conformation of themselves. It's like this since kids. On top of that - they have same friends and their boyfriends are best friends within the same group. So, they don't really have sources to duff from eachother. Same vacations with same people..

But that's gonna happen, huge confidence by self confirmation. (Should I say, I do this with statistics currently :p Very sad :p I replaced my coworkers with devRant with flexing :p).

I'm happy stuff is allowed on dR. While many don't care about my shit (got stats of that too), it's still the most positive site :)
  • 1
@retoor The twins thing is interesting && quite true.

Precisely why having outside data is important, to make sure there is no delusion.

Replacing coworkers w/ dR is !that bad, especially if it works for you.

I too like how things are allowed on dR.

Got a situation some time ago, when coworker did something stupid, so my absolutely natural reaction to that was 'You did _what_?'

He didn't like that, so complained to the boss && the boss says to me that it's !allowed && that I should be friendly && whatnot.

Which is bullshit. If I were to do something stupid I'd love it if there was a person that would just hit me in the head && say 'Hey! What are you doing?'

There's no such person, so either I catch the problem myself, or I do the thing, that hopefully I can revert sometime later.

Something that actually happened to me - I reported an issue due to insufficient knowledge about platform. It was I who caught the problem && closed the report, but it took a few months...
  • 1
...so yeah - coworkers can be overrated.

The sooner people realize being woke && PC is actually detrimental the better.
  • 1
@D-4got10-01 But I did really like to have coworkers tho. That's why I like working at office. I don't have much other social life that that. All my friends are ex-coworkers :)
  • 1
@retoor Yup, I remember you mentioning that.

There was sth about drinking w/ them after work / socializing or sth like that.

I also prefer working from the office, but for me it's due to the clear separation of work vs free time.

Either way there are pros && cons to each option.

@D-4got10-01 are you to bed already? It's just 04:30 :P The chat application works now for group chat. It needs some polishing, but technical it works. I gonna do the polishing and then will make an AI bot for it (will take around two hours, make those thins a lot) and the snek API is top notch, it will be a very decent system. My application doesn't have network communication at all in developer perspective. You can execute functions on the server with native javascript. rpc.pony(1,2,3) runs the function pony. It runs whatever you type behind rpc. Current online version can do thousands of messages in just seconds.

    Good night.

@retoor I'm around. Just finished watching 'Bob Marley: One Love'.

    Nice progress.

IIRC you've made a vid presentation of those ~1000 calls in ~1 sec very recently.

@D-4got10-01 probably, I sniff too much amphetamine to have a very good memory. I'm sharp but the memory isn't doing so well. Also, I don't sleep much 😂 Days are so short, they fly by. It's like I'm standing up and going to bed is all I do. I do not notice the amount of hours programming at all. It feels that I only program a few hours a day. If I didn't have the logs and graphs I wouldn't have believed the productivity myself. It's for me common to just fix smth before bedtime, get distracted and having fun and then, fuck, it's 5am. Waking up 10am, do this for several days and even worse causing me to often sleep from 5 to almost 17:00 of deprivation. My logs show a few working days of literally 24h's development. The keylogger AI stated once that I needed a break and that it was 6:00 Am. I was surprised how it knew, you can't make that up on keylogdata I guess or did I include into instructions? Or ran generation on 6:00. Time aware LLM.
