Was standing on a signal and I usually watch the traffic and if I see the traffic slowing down in front of the signal I start slowly walking towards the curb. By the time I reach the curb the signal is usually turns green. You know, the same feeling you have that the signal will turn green momentarily.
So I was standing there and started walking, signal turns green and I was about half a step away from the street (blasting music on noise canceling headphones, bad idea) just as I started taking the next step a car passes with about 80 km/h (40 allowed), there were centimeters between me and the car. Thankfully a bike passed on the sidewalk before, that way I stood a bit more in the back.
That moron ran a red light in his shitty sports car and almost took me out. At least I think it wouldn't have come out good for me, being hit from a 80km/h fast car.
Thoughts? None, as I didn't see that coming, but since then I'll make 1000% sure the road is safe to pass, even if the light was green for some seconds. Also turn down the music when wandering around

I live in a flat alone. Always lock myself from inside for safety.

Wanted to do some washing today, but mistakenly closed a sliding door at my balcony that only opens from the inside.

Am alone in the flat. And the house is locked from inside. And am also locked at the balcony....

So is this my fate, I asked myself.. sobbing... xD

I'm hungry, thirsty, scared, sad, disappointed, angry, feeling lonely..

Unluckily, there's no pen lying around for me to note my ideas so someone can continue when I die (feeling a little Hawkins here)..

@Kimmax was there for 4 hours, pushing, prying.. I like a lot of puzzle games. But in games, the solution is there, you just have to figure it out. This was real. Tried everything...

Got a good Samaritan to climb a laddle to pass me a knife to pry the door!

And damn, it was on the second floor!!!

Not sure it counts, but I once had a really fucking crazy LSD trip and was convinced I was just exploring some sort of VR-esque life simulation, and that nobody was real and I wasn’t alive per-se.

    That was pretty mental.

I ended up in traffic to prove my theory.

    (Long story short).

Don’t do lsd after a breakup.

You’ll end up in traffic in nothing but jeans, end up rolling in bushes and then ending up in someone’s flat (no idea who, they were sleeping) and having a bubble bath.

Walking home wrapped in their giant fluffy towel was nice though.

Yeah an NDE is the quickest way to become an angel. After mine I received the fourth movement.

@tehdoctor ah yes. The hissing snake / dinosaur one. I know it well.

On a less trolly note, I was in Holland on a school exchange programme (except you live with the student and their family for a few weeks), and we were biking round. I didn’t see the tram crossing lights.

    Get into middle of crossing.

    Fall off in panic.

Barely make it out of there.

MFW I came about a metre away from death.

@mundus it takes five people. 5 movements. Then all is revealed.

You also need it to happen in America so there can be an active shooter.

@mundus Reference to the TV show "The OA"

I once dodged getting hit by a bike and the first thing that came to my was "everyone wants to go to heaven but no one wants to die"
That Steve jobs quote from his commencement speech

Nearly got crushed by a bus.

Winter, driving a scooter, slipped on a layer of ice, bus on the oncoming lane nearly missed my head.

It actually didn't change my life, just had a bad day then. And I don't use the scooter while winter anymore.
