You know that feeling when your project works perfectly on windows?

    Yeah me neither.

@sharktits its a beautiful thing tho, specially considering that this happens even to .net developers AMIRITE

Try using a linux VM with cmd only

Updating to the latest npm sorted most of my issues out for now. I do like Linux file pointers tho, those windows file in use / permission denied errors are dumb

@AleCx04 can confirm it happens to us .Net devs too.

Visual studio is some franken-monster, I mean, the performance monitoring window is built with node... vstudio spins up a fucking node instance to host the content of the pane and do god knows what else.

Things are even bleaker if you’re an F# dev.

And visual studio code is still a hot mess to just get working out of the box.

@Brolls damn I was hoping it was actually better now. Last time I worked with .net wss like 3 or 4 years ago in a .net asp.mvc project. I enjoyed the framework and the lang I was using at the time(c# is a great language imho) but was constantly having weeeeeird issues with VS and I had the enterprise edition thanks to my employer but it was still being a major pain. VS always struck me as a good IDE but the experience with managing packages was a pain for me. I normally blame it on my lack of experience tho

@AleCx04 don’t get me wrong. It’s still the best IDE out there IMO, especially as the community edition is free.

It’s great when it’s great lol
