@turturtles: That'd be great, except my SO is under an employment contract. 🤕
-
my area has no tech jobs so I work for a company on the other side of the US remotely
-
@ingenioushax employment contracts / bonded labour is illegal everywhere in the world.. Where are you from?
-
@manrock007: I consider it an employment contract, but it's really an extremely tight noncompete.

Epineas7768yFind another job or try to find ways to self motivation. When I feel like that I am developing something or reading a new language.

You have to change the culture of the company from the ground up. Take the initiative and ... I'm totally joking. Leave the lady and move. 😂
-
Is moving to another area an option? If so, quit your job and find another one.
If you really have to stay where you are, have a few chats with your peers and superiors and suggest improvements. -
I'm actually in a similar position. I just keep searching for jobs that fit my criteria, try to power through the bad work, and relish the very few fun moments that pop up at my job. It's a slog for sure.
Good luck. -
dots1338yTry to start a new hobby side project in a different language. By the time you will get better and can search for other positions. If your have chosen a good language you also can work remote.

@shittywebdev: Any more corporate philanthropist theories? ”Be the change you want to see"? 😂😂 Corporations, they don't use lube and they don't take you to dinner first.

I've got a question for everyone as we are all in the same realm. How do you handle working for a company who provides no motivation, very little challenges, horrible pay, incompetent developers, and completely useless management?
Also, no other opportunities in the area. Literally. So, "change companies" wouldn't really be a viable option.
