@steaksauce it has ilo 8 I think or at least I've definitely seen that there is an ILO conf option during boot
-
Get remote access to that guy :)
We build out physical servers pretty frequently and I found that I'm far too lazy to hook up a monitor :p -
@steaksauce to the ILO? No idea... I know the machines local IP, the HDD is still running Windows server 2003 for now...
-
The I LO is a means for remotely managing the machine-- ie power on and off, and should be OS independent. The Dell version is amazing (iDRAC)
-
@steaksauce I'm looking into it now, let me reboot to get out of bios and see what happens.
-
-
@steaksauce although there's nothing I can access from the iLO ... No server listed, nothin that matches what the guides online say it should look like.
Wait, Ive found insight diagnostics, loading now...scanning hardware...
Yeah this looks like it. -
I'm basically having to fix the server 2003 installation first to properly enable SNMP for the wbem stuff ...
It's a WIP... One DLL at a time. -
@steaksauce nope, there's no data source for the iLO , SNMP is setup now and configured with the traps, it won't accept any wbem installers I can find from hp and it's out of warranty so I can't download the psp for it from hp.
Leaves me back to square "find another screen and play with BIOS some more" -
@steaksauce so in the cool light of morning, I found a wbem driver package for the machine.
I have the stuff working, though it's only running iLO 2 apparently and it says iLO nic in operation but disconnected. -
@steaksauce so remember that trouble with the HP server?
I left an intern to watch a dd from the iso to the usb...
Did I check her work? Nope.
Turns out the installation media was not done right.
But nvm, install in progress -
@steaksauce well,Centos7 installed, openvpn setup on a Google cloud micro instance...
I'm all set :)
