Long rant 😤😤😤

Today I was going to hit my project manager in the face. I can't stand people like him. In every fucking meeting he starts talking about his past successes and we are forced to listen to him. In this sprint, we had a tough task which took more time than planned. So we didn't finish it till the deadline. After working hard all night long I finally managed to get the job done. And today guess what happened? He didn't fucking appreciate it. All he was talking was mediocre look of the module we've developed for the website. And it's not even my job to make a beautiful design as a back-end developer. At a point I wanted to resign. I don't know how much I will stand this situation. He has always been like this since he came to the company. The worst part is, he is not a senior developer or something. Al he talks about is some fucking old jobs he has done we don't know if they are real or not. From every meeting we suspect his skills are limited. He just knows how to talk. He has never reviewed a single line of code because he doesn't know PHP (yes I know, I know). Hell he doesn't know any back-end language and he is supposed to create a new architecture for the website. He don't have enough database skills neither. All he says he has worked as a mobile and front-end developer. So now I'm home and don't know If I should resign or not.

Me in a nutshell trying to argue with my groupmates.

I feel u too, in my case... I wanted to leave from the group because of a guy shitting his past, My other members decided to kick that guy and won't replace me..
I don't know if I'm happy because I had enough sacrifice for my group.

In the end. It's your team that decides who to kick.

I had enough talk for my groupmates that I want to be alone in the group

I feel your pain, but tbh a real project manager !=== developer.

I constantly find myself explaining technical terminology to PMs who say "yeah, I got it" but I know they don't and (THIS IS IMPORTANT) => that's okay.

It's the nature of the beast of being a developer and it's (begrudgingly) part of our job to make someone non-techncial understand (at least, what your doing) as best as you can.

After getting worked up about this in the past I now view it like this, I would rather explain something personally to someone who doesn't understand so I'm happy with their level of knowledge on the topic, rather than them go to someone else who might explain it poorly or, just flat out wrong.

Be the guru, be the go to person they come to for advice and you'll see the relationship change.

But, If they're a "know-it-all" jackass and always think they know more than you, prompt them to start writing code out on the whiteboard right in the meeting and nip that shit in the bud. Like right now. Do it. "If I had to do it for this job you can explain your code right there on that board, the devs are interested in what you want to contribute."

Watch them crumble. I'm a dev and hate coding on whiteboard. 😂😂

@Vip3rDev he is a "know-it-all" asshole and he's not only in project manager position but a senior developer like. I wouldn't hate him this much if he was a project manager who has little knowledge of programming.

So I talked with my manager today about the resignation. He didn't want me to leave but I told him I've made up my mind. If everything goes okay, it will end tomorrow.
