    You definetly can win hackathons with shitty ui's.

    @AdityaD sure? I was part of an hackathon from zeiss who took place in india and germany at the same time. We won without even having a visible ui.

    @AdityaD At my first two hackathons I didn't win anything ;) but after that i figured it out, and since then I alwaysgo home with some prices.

    Hackathons are selling the idea, not the implementation. You could win one with some UI mockups on a PowerPoint.

    @happynacho often that is the case, but if you have implemented something working, you can win as well.
