Me : *wants to refactor a variable*

Visual Studio : Ok! Type the new name of the variable

Me : *backspace one time to remove a char*

VS : *erases ALL the name of the variable and ALL the usages of the variable, and no possibility to undo*

Me : ..... that was a dick move you know.

    Only one way to fix it: build and enjoy the errors thrown at ya 😓

    And this is why Resharper is a worthy investment...

    @xorith and so that’s why it was installed already on my computer when I arrived 🤔

    No local history like in jetbrain products?

    @musician there is

    But somehow, I mashed CTRL + Z and the contextual menu Undo, none worked. Else there wouldn’t be a rant

    @DodgerAkame

    If you're using Resharper, make sure you use the Resharper refactor functions. I work quite a bit in old shitty legacy code and I'm constantly refactoring and have never had an issue as described. I've never used the VS built-in for it either, though.

    @xorith yeah, somehow it magically switched from VS’s refactor to Resharper’s during the day
