Ok I’ll be nice, I use LE for some of my own sites. It’s been great, and the new wildcards are both great for me but scary as hell for scam sites to be able to grab with ease.

@elcore how so? It takes seconds to generate a ssl cert and with 0 validation other then you running certbot from the server the domain points too.

Pick up appple.com and point it to a host and run certbot, you now have ssl for that.

I’m not against lets encrypt (as I said I use it myself) but in the ease of generating a temp / free cert it also can be used for the wrong reasons for free and without repercussions.

Cloudflare does it free

@C0D4 so how do you let apple.com resolve to the host you are using for your cert generation? didn't you need to add your A-record to the DNS server of apple?
