How is it that every laptop my mom uses always seems to have Windows Defender AND MalwareBytes uninstalled? The thought of her work laptop always needing to be connected to a super public airport network while she has no AV bothers me to say the least, especially when that laptop then connects to our home network every night. Looks like I'm gonna use Sophos and guard that laptop like everything else on our network depends on it...

    Update them to windows 10 then she cant get rid of windows defender

    How exactly would an AV protect you from ARP poisoning? I've never seen that.

    Make her a regular user instead of admin.

    @PrivateGER I'm hoping the VPN helps with that part. (Unless there's a better way.) Doubtful she'd always use it though, because convenience and what not.

    Reguardless, it's still bad having no protection at all.
