What's your problem with the light theme instead of the dark one in a software?

    - BURN 🔥😵
    - Power saving
    - It just makes sense to have a black backhround.

If you're using a computer for an extended period, light colors can hurt your eyes, and even burn their shapes into your vision. It makes it harder, after using it, to get to sleep, and can even increase your stress levels.

The general perception of people who prefer dark themes seems to be that they're hype-enthusiasts who are just trying to be on-trend. But it's an ergonomic decision, not a cosmetic one.

Less white == less higher frequency light (blue) == less eye strain

@Sourcerer Why isn't it relevant? And how is the age of basic research detrimental to its value/truthfulness?

To all complaining about light themes being too bright: have you ever tried lowering the brightness of your screen? I find that a much more effective solution especially when switching work places (coffee shop vs. man cave vs. park).
