This website will seriously trigger @Irene for still believing that VS Code is "not an IDE". 🤣

What? It uses a whole bunch of plug-ins that other ide's have been using for a while? Unbelievable, what an amazing program...
    /s

Might look into vs code when I get some time, but for now, jerbrains is my number 1

@PonySlaystation well to be really fair it is not an IDE, but you can add enough plugins on the editor to make it one. It has replaced VS as my environment for .NET Core because i find it faster for my web stuff! It really is a great tool

@AleCx04 VS Code IS an IDE. Read the definition. Even without plugins, it definitely is an IDE.
Just the builtin debugger, IntelliSense, task manager and terminal are sufficient enough to call it an IDE.
I seriously don't get it why people still believe that it's only an (extensible) editor, which is for the obvious facts wrong.

@PonySlaystation calm down, look. The reason why I say it is not an IDE is first: I see nowhere in the description that it calls itself an IDE, if anything it mentions itself as an alternative to a full featured IDE as Visual Studio. Secondly, yes, the damned thing has a lot of cool stuff. But I could only scaffold large .net core apps the way I would do on VS after installing a fuckload of plugins. And I can only do that in .net core, not on Python or any other without the use of plugins. The debugger is a great experience, and the thing doesn't choke as bad on megalarge projects, but the reason why I don't call it an IDE is for the above. At its best, when I downloaded it it had basic editing capabilities and it will start up in 2 seconds. No full features IDE does shit like that and if it where the worls would loose it and no one would use IntelliJ, or VS etc.

@AleCx04 It's not about "full featured" IDE.
VS Code has everything you need built in for example for TypeScript.
VS Code fullfills at least the basic features of an IDE. So it is an IDE.

@AleCx04 No reason to get personal.

@PonySlaystation nooo don't take it like that bro!! I was trying to be playful, didn't mean to make it sound as a personal attack or anything.

I guess with all things considered it makes sense to label VS Code as an IDE, i just get that weird gut feeling that it ain't one y know? By far and wide it does not mean anything bad, it is currently my main tool! Both at work and for personal projects.
