    Try 'apt-get install python3-pip'
  • 9
    Maybe you need to 'apt update' first
  • 2
    You can also 'python(3?) -m ensurepip'

    Fucking python is such a pain in the ass to get working, I was going to try some tensor flow demo stuff with it but installing it and the dependencies for tensor flow became to annoying and I ended up just saying fuckin and forgetting about it.

    Run 'apt update' first.

    @hexc You can try tensorflow on Google colab online also use their free GPU for training!

    Your workplace folder is a google drive folder and the rest I think you can figure it out.

    This is Ubuntu, not Linux. The package manager does have the package.

    Don't let this get to you, I remember when I first met Linux through Ubuntu and didn't like it. I wasted like 2 years because I thought I didn't like Linux.

    I didn't like Ubuntu.

    also this will help in the future

    apt-get update && apt-cache search pip

    @wolt I tried Ubuntu 12.04 when I got my first laptop, and figured out that there's were other operating systems.

    I couldn't do anything on it, and didn't understand it much, mainly because of unity.
    So that's why I don't like it.
    But I don't like it as a main desktop. I use it a lot in VMs and it works well.

    So yeah, my stated position on Ubuntu, is based on my interactions with unity which I didn't find intuitive as a kid.

    :)

    Fucking Windows man. If there was so simple solutions to it updating while I'm working - like setting workhours or so - like there are for linux when it can't install a package.

    If you put this whole post next to your typical windows-rant you get the definition of double standards..^^

    @D3add3d yes I know.
    I don't hate Ubuntu man, I just like other distros now.

    The only thing I don't like about Ubuntu is that 12.04 didn't help me learn more about Linux when I first tried it.

    But it might have just been me.

    @YousifMansour my first experience with linux was some gaming distro and educational distro to both of which my dad was contributuing as a graphics designer (he made all the icons, mouse pointer images, wallpapers and so on)... and I loved them :D

    @D3add3d that's so cool!

    @YousifMansour I asked him what the distros were called, the gaming distro was LLGP(Linux Live Game Project) and he made the splash screen icons and the logo, unfortunately he could not remember what the name of the educational distro was but I will go and search for the CD, if I find it and find a way to play it I willake sure to post the name here
