I'll be buying a second hand Surface tomorrow.

Will put Linux onto it right away, found good instructions on doing that including making the touchscreen work.

If that doesn't work, I'll sell the fucker again because I'm not running windows. I'm just not. That malware can go fuck itself.

Looking forward to transferring that windows machine to a Linux one!

I dual booted Linux/Win on a Surface Pro for a bit while I was backpacking. Sold it in Australia and bought an MSI gaming laptop as my dev box. Really good decision.

That was the super old ones. Beware the new ones. One of the Surface laptops has an iFixIt score of 0/5. You literally cannot service any part of it without breaking the entire thing. It's unservicable and unupgradable.

Why not getting any Android tablet that has instructions for installing Linux (check XDA developers) I'm sure it's cheaper plus has better support I'm guessing

@Condor I'm not planning to disassemble it in the upcoming century haha but thanks for the advice!

Why don't you just buy a ultrabook from some professional manufacturer? I guess it would look awful when I'd be programming/doing anything on something with a Windows logo.
