My father just told me that I'm not a good programmer, because there are kids out there, who are younger than me and know more programming languages.

Besides the fact that the number of programming languages one knows has nothing to do with programming skills, I just said: "I wanna see that kid.", because I already knew his answer.

"Well, I never said there are many of these kids."

Maybe your dad was referring to people like this:

*Wow, look at me! I'm the best programmer, I can write hello world in all the languages!*

Maybe your father was talking about the guy who can install Windows in early age 😂😂

@senzory Facebook and twitter were not made by only a single person. Why do parents and "friends" expect devs to be freaking superhuman one-man-machienes? srsly.

You can always say that he is not capable enough himself in what he does ,because there are guys who make millions and he does not. If you got a known example in his profession, either someone you both know or someone famous, the effect is better.

@cave Even if he does know some kid, or a hundred such kids , the argument is completely pointless. Instead of referring to some wonder kids, he could be referring to some well-known accomplished professional. The answer could be in any case "Yeah they are better they are geniuses and will always be ahead of me, so what". What I am saying with my previous comment is giving a taste of his own medicine to see what his words truly mean. You can keep on with comparing him to others for as long as it takes to realize his logic is false.

I mean, I know well over 15 langs, but I use two. 1 is by far more used even then as well, and I'm likely younger than you, but wouldn't call myself better than most :p
