Puts three months of work into this project; cronjob to ping 3 APIs at regular intervals, cleans, massive features extraction, dumps into PostgreSQL db. Got Django on top of that with a small neural net and interesting viz - absolutely gorgeous!

Can’t fuckin wait to showcase that.

Feedback: “is that the right blue? I think you have the old company logo! etc”

yes, this sucks but the hard reality is that nothing is worth anything unless it's sold/presented properly.

Next time spend at least 2-3 days to prepare a kick ass presentation of your project that stunns your mates and your boss. Remember to stress out the benefits of your awesome features for the user or audience.

in the image you see an example of the features of a HB pencil and on the right its benefits.

    Good luck! :)
I think your project sounds pretty badass! 👍

@heyheni you are absolutely right but the problem I encounter is much of what I like to (and I think most of us) is exploratory: I have this awesome idea but I actually don't think I can pull it off (even though I often achieve what I want or come pretty close). Because of the latter I don't want to overpromise then look a fool.

@jdatap So when you have something cool you've done, it helps to have learned how to make it look cool. Unfortunately, a lot of us enjoy infrastructure and infrastructure is hard to showcase in a way that someone who isn't interested in behind the scenes stuff. Infrastructure is the mostly thankless job that often needs us to remember that doing cool stuff is better than having people recognize we did it. Usage is our best thanks.
