Trying to install Ubuntu onto my newly acquired Asus T100.

It's hardly compatible with Linux but after tweaking around I did get it to boot with Ubuntu 16.04.

I'm actually quite nervous 😅

But leaving windows on that poor thing would be a no-fucking-go so I hope this will save it.

@RantSomeWhere Ubuntu reportedly works slightly at least so just playing safe. And yes, I dislike it!

@Stocken why? What’s the most you’d pay for one?

I had a T100 that died 2 times over the course of a year.

It was a nice experience, but after the second time out i just asked Amazon for a refund and got it.

It was a nice experience though. Even with that whole 32bit UEFI fiasco

@A-C-E hm maybe like 100 bucks just to use it as a screen haha, as a "laptop" it heat throthels and the storage is always full because the OS
    Edit: 100 not 1000

@Stocken it’s worth $1000 USD to you?! I saw one on eBay for $63

Edit: oh right that was probably sarcasm

@Stocken you haven’t cracked one open have you? I assume not much expansion...

@A-C-E it does have a micro SD expansion, so it gives you something.

@JoshBent That was the thing that surprised me (it ran out of power during the installation so no clue whether I'm fucked now or not), everything INCLUDING the touchscreen just (not WiFi yet but there are instructions everywhere on getting that to work) just worked by default!

@linuxxx lucky you, congrats then! probably the older cherry trails got their fix already by now 😅

@JoshBent Yeah Ubuntu 16.04 seems to work well :D

@kgbemployee Change the usb mode in the uefi/bios and get a usb-ethernet adapter!

@kgbemployee Yup took me a while to get that working, can see if I can find a resource on that one again?

@kgbemployee I'll see if I can find the link in the Firefox history tonight or tomorrow!
