Glad to be back to some IRC servers that managed to not die off and ZNC bouncer got so much neat default and external plugins now, for example you can get push notifs if you want: https://github.com/jreese/znc-push1
Fuck, now I'm actually somewhat mad how much time those figma plugins could've saved me lol.
Especially things like generating a quick color palette, that immediately pastes them next to the element are so damn useful.
Generating real-life data into text elements, avatars pulled right from an API, auto fetched graphs for example data, all the goodies that make life easier.5
The new figma plugins are actually insane lol, some examples:
- font scale, always struggled with having to apply the formula myself or finding the right one so it scales nicely
- image tracer, that plugin replaces adobe illustrator for me, since I only used it to convert pixels to vector images
- removebg, 99% of what I pulled photoshop up for
still have to test them some more, but so far it literally replaces all that adobe crap for me.
I haven't checked figma plugins much since their announcement, but holy shit scrolling through the list now is nuts, they have so much goodies, open source, things you had to pop into adobe illustrator first too.3
I can't fucking read adobe *eks deh* ever as what they intended it to be, it always seems like the author of the comment / .. is a gen Z laughing out loud about something.6
What if my connector doesn't want to group itself into male or female on either end? how am I supposed to connect it then.9
Honestly, stripe support is the best I've ever dealt with and I wish others would be exactly the same.
No level 0 support agents that don't know what the fuck they are talking about nor know their product to begin with, but instead every single person you chat with knows the API and even implementation details, just such a pleasant experience.1
Holy shit looks exciting, an actual split window manager with custom layouts on win10?
Looks like he had to submit a 5000 chars paper, but did 200 instead and filled it with images.

neat, ansible control server on my phone, now I can transfer my playbooks and ssh keys and have it execute things on the go.7
First of all, a great channel to follow and where all this is from: https://youtube.com/watch/...
It listed a lot of open source news I missed myself and I'm sure others did too, for those that are too lazy to watch the video or open the description, I've stripped away the links and "X version got released" just to give an idea of what he covers.

uh-oh, I've made the amazonian gods mad by activating my vpn on my phone at the wrong time at the wrong place. (please don't send delivery drones nuking me)
I thought my alexa routines and other things vanished because of an update of sorts, but it was because it switched to another vpn region, so I've setup the same stuff again only to get like two reminders at the same time they used to be, guess I now have to either stick to the region or deactivate vpn, remove the old reminders and go back lol2
We had recently a thread asking about our internet speeds, this seems relevant to most of what I've read in the comments so far.3
How about "it's not your business to know that as long as they deliver what's necessary"?
That whole tracking and screenshot software movement for remote work is so vile, main reason I work at fixed rates where I just add a percentage of space on top and then do new contracts if they exceed that.12
Decided to try keepass again and the combination of it all nowadays is just (nearly) perfect:
- KeepassXC Browser extension (the only reason for "nearly" since NatMsg tries to emulate keepassxc but sometimes fails)
There's tons of more things to discover still, but that already gave me a much easier (especially backups wise) and plugin setup than what I had before with bitwarden!
Syncthing also _just works_ (not like it used to be) which makes me all the time question what's wrong with it haha13
A creative way to get yourself locked out from your server: having your new password manager hit an old entry port for a favicon - which gets you banned, took me a second to understand why I can't suddenly access things anymore lol3
I've tried so many ways for that at night or during walk spark of bug solving ideas:
- fluorescent ink on regular paper
- florescent mini whiteboards
- "alexa remind me.."
- writing down in my phone
- recording on my phone
But all of those due to my short term memory made me forget half the things by the time I opened the fucking phone/app, found where to grab the pen or the whole dance for alexa, to remember the exact phrase I have to spell out, when it should remind me, what time,..
Earlier today I remembered how I had a little tape voice recorder I used to use a ton, thankfully that tech advanced by now and found myself a stereo mic setup little voice recorder that can also act as an mp3 player!
Went for a walk today, while listening to some podcasts, then it hit me as usual on how to fix and implement some things that were awkward at best on paper when I left home, pressed the record button, recorded it and went straight back to music mode, which remembered where I left off!
I'm so indescribably happy, I ordered quite a bunch of the same to just throw around everywhere, at the bed, in the bathroom, kitchen, for walking outside, everywhere haha7
