Yesterday a longtime friend asked me if I finally become a programmer.

Is it really being a programmer looking for solutions on stackoverflow?

Depends what you're looking for I guess? I've been coding for a year soon, no formal training or education outside a 3-day c# primer, but I have several programs in production in the service desk where I work, so I guess I am :-D

Actually it is, but the point isn't code copy & paste - that usually doesn't work. But if you read through the answers, you often get hints to gotchas that you hadn't even known. Learning from mistakes is useful, but learning from other peoples' mistakes is even efficient.

Or if you are doing stuff outside your main competence.
