Windows 10: Please reboot, I want to update
Me: K, do it
Windows 10, after reboot: I could not update, what do?

I had this conversation with my laptop about 15 times in the past couple of months and SINCE THEN I DID NOT HAVE A SINGLE SUCCESSFUL UPDATE. WHEN A NEW WANNACRY ROLLS OUT I WILL BE THE FIRST VICTIM BECAUSE AT THIS POINT A POTATOE HAS MORE RECENT SECURITY UPDATES THAN I DO

@davehuk hp laptop. My guess is that Windows dislikes my Ubuntu Bootloader but I don't and won't accept that as an excuse

Hey kid, you want some Linux?

@PrivateGER yeh, my ubuntu partition is heavily in use. I'd still like to use my Windows in a safe way

I experienced this too. I threw that laptop away and bought a new one. Made the old one's HDD as an external hard drive.

I just use a Windows VM in Linux...

@DucksCanCode Yeah, I think this is the best way to do it. I have also passed my second GPU to the Windows VM for native or near-native performance
