Windows 10 insider preview had a critical bug like half a year ago where most browsers would freeze the PC. I've reported it multiple times but my feedback didnt get any attention. The bug made it to production months later...

Now, the story is repeating. I've discovered a bug. Everytime there's a software update for apps that with a built-in updater in the main .exe (JetBrains IDEs, VS etc.) the updater fails, program is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled. For instance, there's a minor bump in Android Studio version, if you try to use autoupdater it will corrupt your Android Studio and you'll have to reinstall.

Been trying to reach out to them but the only "real issues" that are highlighted are "no CPU temp in task manager" or "pls improve automatic problem resolving"

Why the fuck do you even have a feedback program if you're ignoring the people who are reaching out to you, you pieces of shit

You reported bugs that aren't directly tied to microsoft, who knows how android studio handles their updates behind the scenes? Maybe there's a breaking api change the dev team didn't take care of just yet?
If it affects msi packages, that would be more like a problem Microsoft needs to take care of
Still, thanks for testing the new builds for us

Feedback is for normies. Don’t expect much help from the logs.

Are you having to repair the install or do you have to uninstall and then install the next build?

After some Insider updates I’ve had to run sfc (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...) for Win10 to fully boot due to dual ownership issues of files.

@Kimmax no, its changes in Windows itself which broke these apps. Like some builds can't launch some games and they fix it next update etc

Also, VS is their own app...

@bkwilliams uninstall and reinstall. Luckily, for JetBrains IDEs all settings and plugins etc are kept

No, sfc is fine this is a well configured build.
