Windows is open sourcing their tools slowly to attract more people. Its like trying to do all those stupid stuff to get your girl.

    Apple has been more open than Windows for a long time. The majority of OS X, iOS, and tvOS is open source even. Look up Darwin.

    I've been using bash on Windows for years now. I still think MinGW, Cygwin, and/or Git Bash provide a much more straightforward environment than Windows' bash.
